Entitlement to Work (Australia Only)

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) can confirm an individual’s eligibility to work in Australia. First Advantage collects copies of documentation required to confirm Australian citizenship. For non-citizens, First Advantage will confirm entitlement to work through DIAC and will provide details of limitations attached to a work visa.

This check is necessary for all employees. It is an offence under the Migration Act 1958 to knowingly or recklessly allow a worker to work, or to refer a worker to work, if they are in breach of their visa condition, or working in Australia illegally. Companies face fines of up to $66,000 per illegal worker.
