Passport Check

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) developed standards for Machine Readable Travel Documents (MRTDs). Most travel documents now meet these standards and include a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) which spans two lines at the bottom of the photo page. The data on the page is encoded into the MRZ.

First Advantage can identify fraudulent or tampered passports by cross-referencing the passport details to the code in the MRZ.

This check is recommended when an individual resides outside of Australia and is unable to meet the 100 point identity check requirements.
